HUAHINE THE WILD ISLAND
Huahine is an old volcano whose collapsed centre has, for thousands of years, been flooded by the sea. Huahine Nui and Huahine Iti, the two mountain ridges are separated by two majestic bays: Maroe and Bourayne, and its 75 km2 of land area are protected by a lagoon open onto the ocean through five deep channels in the reef.
Huahine is often called “Huahine the Wild or the Authentic”, a nickname that comes from an atmosphere, a special and indefinable difference. It is considered mystical, feminine also because of the silhouette it has against the blue sky: that of a languorous woman… Perhaps also because of its gentle landscapes, made of small valleys and multiple bays. Its immediate beauty and subtle charm make it an unforgettable destination that is secretly recommended.
